Days after saying that he would dismantle the network of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 24 hours, Bahubhali MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has claimed a ‘threat’ to his life from the Bishnoi gang. It is alleged that a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang issued a threat to the Bahubhali MP whose fans hail him for being courageous.

The caller, according to reports, claimed that he was closely monitoring the MP’s movements, and threatened to kill him if he didn’t stay away from issues involving Salman Khan. The actor is already under the protection of government security agencies for repeated threats to his life from the gang over his alleged involvement in the killing of a blackbuck, the incident that took place decades ago in Rajasthan, while he was shooting for a film in the state.

In the purported audio message, the caller can be heard saying, “You could have told ‘bhai’ that the media did this, not me. Settle the matter as soon as possible. I considered you an elder brother, and you’ve embarrassed me. Call back, and I’ll connect you with ‘bhai'”.

The man, reportedly, also claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi – who is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail of Ahmedabad – was paying Rs 1 lakh per hour to disable signal jammers, allowing him to establish direct communication with Yadav, who he said had been ignoring their calls.

The MP also attached an audio recording of the phone call in his complain to the police.

This comes days after Yadav, the six-time MP, boasted that he could finish off the gangster’s network within 24 hours if he had a free hand.

Meanwhile, the gang’s claim that it killed former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, is being investigated by the Maharashtra government.

Also, Yadav, who tried provoking the security establishment for not being able to curb activities of the gang, requested the government to upgrade his security to ‘Z’ category, citing the death threat from the gang.

A ‘Z’ category security protectee is covered against any possible harm by at least 30 security personnel, including six personal security officers, one escort with three senior-rank officers and nine lower-rank officers and a formation of two senior and eight lower-rank officers as armed guards.

“At a time when the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved in different cases across the country, I, in my capacity as a political person, opposed the gangster. After this, the chief of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang threatened me,” the MP said in his letter to the Union Home Minister and also marked the same to top Bihar police officers, including the Director General of Police.
