Brazil's Supreme Court delays decision on allowing social media platform X to resume services due to unpaid fines.

SAO PAULO : Elon Musk-owned social media platform X has paid some pending fines that had been imposed by Brazil's Supreme Court and will file a fresh request to resume services in the country, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on Friday.

Elon Musk's X has paid millions of dollars in fines in Brazil to settle a row with a judge who banned the platform in its biggest Latin American market over disinformation.

Payments totalling $5.24m have now been made and are "duly proven", says document filed by X's lawyers.

The platform was blocked by a judge in a high-profile showdown with Musk over disinformation.
