Logitech launches the MX Ink Stylus for Meta Quest headsets

by · Android Headlines

Logitech has officially released its highly anticipated Logitech MX Ink Meta Quest stylus. First announced in June, the stylus is now available at $129.99, with an upgraded bundle priced at $169.99. The innovative tool enhances drawing, sculpting, and manipulating objects in mixed reality environments, pairing with Meta Quest headsets.

The Stylus is designed for artists

The Logitech MX Ink Meta Quest stylus provides a natural and comfortable alternative to the traditional Quest controllers, which are often bulkier. Artists accustomed to working on 2D or 3D software will find this pen-shaped controller a game-changer. It aims to replicate the feel of a traditional drawing tablet, making creative processes smoother and more intuitive. The stylus can be used with Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S headsets, offering flexibility across multiple devices.

Logitech’s MX Ink stylus already supports popular creative applications, including Open Brush, Gravity Sketch, and Adobe Substance 3D Modeler. These programs allow artists to explore and express their creativity across both 2D and 3D platforms. However, it will be up to developers to extend the stylus’s compatibility with other apps, which could expand its utility even further. The stylus’s seamless integration into these platforms highlights its potential to transform how creators work within mixed-reality environments.

Advanced functionality and flexibility

One standout feature of the Logitech MX Ink Meta Quest stylus is its ability to work alongside the Meta Quest’s native controllers. This marks the first time the headset supports more than two controllers at once. Users can easily switch between the stylus and the standard controllers without interrupting their workflow. Logitech designed the stylus to include familiar functions. Tapping the Options button twice mimics the “B” input on Quest controllers.

The stylus provides up to seven hours of battery life. Users can recharge it via USB-C or the inkwell-style charging base, which comes with the $169.99 bundle. With haptic feedback and pressure sensitivity, the Logitech MX Ink simulates the feel of a real pen. Though slightly bulkier at 28.5g and 18.1mm in width, it offers a smooth and natural drawing experience.

The Logitech MX Ink Meta Quest stylus brings new possibilities for creators in the mixed reality space. Its user-friendly design, advanced features, and compatibility with key creative platforms make it a must-have for artists pushing the boundaries of digital art.
