Amazon cuts £25 bottle of Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum to £15 in pre-Black Friday sale
by Rachel Sloper, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/rachel-sloper/, Prudence Wade · Birmingham LiveRum, the sweet-tooth's favourite spirit, carries an air of adventure and excitement that gin and whisky can't quite match, thanks to its associations with seafaring and pirates. For a rich and deep taste, rum enthusiasts should definitely consider a 70cl bottle of Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum - now £15, down from £25 on Amazon.
This Cornish-made rum, crafted at the Rum and Crab Shack in St Ives, is packed with exotic spices and boasts a unique flavour profile. If you're familiar with saffron cake, you'll find notes of those flavours in this rum, along with hints of sherry raisin ice cream, reports the Daily Record.
Other notes include caramel, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and bubbly orange undertones. Dead Man's Fingers recommends serving it in a Bloody Death cocktail, which includes: 50ml of the rum, 90ml of tomato juice, 10ml of cranberry juice, 10ml of lemon juice, 10ml of Worcestershire Sauce, a pinch of sea salt, and a garnish of lemon and cucumber wedges with a twist of black pepper.

These bottles of Cornwall's finest have been a hit with Amazon customers, enjoying an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars from over 11,100 reviews. "Wonderfully smooth, sweet yet complex at the end," said one five-star review.
"Bang for buck, this is a really nice spiced rum. Goes without saying this is one of the top rums for the price," said another. "Very flavourful, great to sip if you're a neat rum fan but also outstanding in cocktails and coke."
One shopper raved: "Great rum. Tastes great. Packaging looks cool so I keep the bottles after use."
As with all palate-based products, your mileage may vary. One reviewer wrote: "Personal taste of course but this was too liquorice tasting for me." Another said: “For me, this is way too sweet, no way should any rum taste of cake.”
For a more traditional, Caribbean-led flavour, this bottle of Mount Gay Barbados Rum is £24 for 70cl at Tesco. If you’d like something more experimental, this Wild Oxen Chocolate Rum is very highly rated at £34.25 for 70cl. That said, for some very well-regarded, British-made rum that evokes swashbuckling and adventure, Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum is a bargain at £17 for 70cl.
