Android 16's exact release date leaks
by Vlad · GSMArena.comGoogle recently announced that Android 16 will be arriving earlier than its predecessor, with the launch scheduled to take place within the second quarter of next year, so between April and June.
Today a new rumor claims to give us the exact release date: June 3. That's not just the day on which the code will be released to the Android Open Source Project, but apparently it's also when the over-the-air rollout of the update to Android 16 will start for Google's Pixels, unlike what happened this year when more than a month passed between the AOSP release and the actual OTA updates commencing.
As Google has already mentioned, the main reason for having a release earlier in the year is making sure more smartphones can launch with it on board. This obviously includes the Pixel 10 family, which, if 2024 history repeats itself, will be unveiled in August, but also probably includes Samsung's next foldables, due to launch in July.
