Here Are Destiny 2's Free Apology God Rolls

Bungie recently acknowledged the existence of arguably the worst bug in Destiny 2’s entire history, the revelation that for years now, loot drops have been bugged to make certain perk combinations close to impossible to get, when all combinations were supposedly supposed to be weighted equally. It took a player-led statistical analysis movement to prove this and yes, it’s real. Now, Bungie is apologizing in a unique way.

Bungie has announced that Vesper’s Host, the dungeon everyone was farming for an impossible roll, will drop both weapons and armor each encounter (frankly this is always how it should be). That’s happening from November 19 through December 3.

But the biggest news is that Bungie is doing something they’ve never done before, giving out a list of free PvP and PvE god rolls that may have been “missed” due to these errors over the years. Here’s what they said:

“Starting November 19, Banshee-44 will have a small collection of weapons in the Tower with curated perk rolls. Our goal is to get you some perk combinations that were a bit harder to earn due to the bug. We do not currently have a planned deadline for acquisition, but we recommend picking these weapons up at your earliest convenience.”

Here’s the list of the guns with those rolls, the catch being that you need to own the dungeon and have beaten it once if it’s a dungeon weapon:

• Rose (Hand Cannon) - Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Slideshot, Explosive Payload, Smooth Grip, Handling MW
• Multimach (Submachine Gun) - Polygonal Rifling + Tactical Mag + Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremors + Reload MW
• Indebted Kindness (Dungeon Rocket Sidearm) - Smart Drift Control + Tactical Mag + Loose Change + Voltshot + Velocity MW
• Compass Rose (Shotgun) - Corkscrew Rifling, Light Mag, Snapshot Sights, Slideshot, Handling MW
• Hothead (Adept) (Rocket Launcher) - Hard Launch + Impact Casing + Tracking Module + Clown Cartridge + Reload MW
• VS Chill Inhibitor (Dungeon Grenade Launcher) - Countermass + Spike Grenades + Envious Arsenal + Bait and Switch + Reload MW

It’s an interesting list. Rose and Compass Rose are the clear PvP rolls. The Indebted Kindness is not even the best roll, as it is better with Lead for Gold (I like Impulse Amplifier, but that is not the general consensus). Hothead is there because it literally could not roll with Tracking Module at all, which seems like a different sort of bug. And VS Chill Inhibitor has the literal god roll that started this whole mess in the first place.

These are free, free, they don’t even cost glimmer, so that’s good. Really this entire thing is…pretty creative honestly. This was a bad, bad bug, one of the worst the game has ever seen, so I mean, what can they even do? I’d say a batch of god rolls is a pretty good idea, honestly. There’s no perfect fix after all.
