Nokia XR21 and G21 Receive October Patch

Nokia X30 and XR20 recently received the October patch, and now it is time for other Nokia devices to receive it. Nokia’s XR21 and G21 smartphones have started receiving the latest security patch for October 2024. This update aims to enhance device security with the latest protections against vulnerabilities identified in Google’s monthly security bulletin.

The Nokia G21 update is relatively light, at 14.53 MB. Well, at least it ensures minimal disruption while bringing important security enhancements.

For the Nokia XR21, the October patch is larger at 88.68 MB. Given the XR21’s focus on ruggedness and reliability, the increased patch size could reflect on som additional refinements although there is no evidence for that. The update is available for the regular and limited series one.

As always, it’s recommended to download updates over a Wi-Fi connection to avoid unnecessary mobile data charges. Users can initiate the update manually by heading to Settings > System > Software Update if they haven’t received the notification.
