Woman issues warning to Vinted users after 'getting robbed' by sneaky buying tactic

A woman has issued a stark warning to anyone who uses the Vinted app after she was left 'fuming' when a potential buyer used a little-known feature to get a discount she didn't want to give

Vinted can be the perfect place to land amazing deals or find things you might not otherwise spot. But a woman claimed she was "robbed" on the app by a savvy buyer who had a much better understanding of its features than her.

Katie Dsouza took to TikTok, and in her video's caption said, "Don't hate the player, hate the game I guess." She added she was absolutely "fuming" over the sneaky buyer's actions, which she hadn't even noticed. Despite her anger, "How f**king dare you," she exclaimed, Katie managed to keep a sense of humour about the ordeal, adding, "I'm not even mad".

"I just got played by someone on vinted", Katie revealed, sharing that she had listed her Xbox One S for £60 on the site and "instantly" it seemed like everyone wanted it.

When one interested party made her an offer of £50, which was £10 less than she asked, she responded "kindly" that she had just put it online and intended to wait for chances to sell at the full price before considering any offers. "I may consider your offer if I don't get it sold," she told the potential buyer.

A seller on Vinted couldn't conceal her fury after a cunning buyer exploited her bundle discount to snag an Xbox and other items at a massive discount. She vented: "This b*****d was already on my Vinted and bought five items because if you buy on my Vinted, I've got the bundle thing set up so if you buy five things you get 40% off or more on the items. So this b*****d bought five of my £1 s****y items, including the Xbox, and got it all for £48, something like that."

Katie also claimed the buyer "played" her "like a f**king fiddle," but in retaliation, she refunded the account and re-advertised the item.

She added: "I've stopped my bundle discounts now," punctuating her statement with an exasperated groan.

In the comments, some people admired the deft move, with one person noting it was "very smart" while Katie acknowledged: "Absolutely. Think this will be a new trick for a lot of people."

Another suggested abandoning the bundle discount due to potential deceit, and Katie conceded she had indeed turned it off, having not anticipated shoppers would exploit the scheme: "I put my £450 egg pram on Vinted and forgot about my bundle discount, thankfully a lady messaged me to tell me! Can you imagine losing 20% on that," shared another seller, frustrated by the oversight. Meanwhile, one TikTok user chimed in pondering the ethics: "But...isn't that just being strategic and grabbing a bargain? They didn't technically break any rules nor rob you. Quite genius tbh".

Katie faced criticism online when an individual vented: "You shouldn't be allowed to cancel the order because they didn't do anything wrong."

Unfazed, Katie fired back: "And I shouldn't have to accept it either, it is my item and it is my choice at the end of the day not there's, they may not have done anything technically wrong but I forgot about my bundle discounts! ".
