Apple Vision Pro: More Affordable Version Delayed Past 2027

by · Gizchina

The Apple Vision Pro might be the dream of many tech enthusiasts and Apple fans. However, its $3,500 price tag can easily push off some potential consumers. We also need to consider its market availability, but Apple is reportedly working on a cheap variant to make it more accessible to consumers. The giant is expected to launch the Apple Vision Pro 2 with the upcoming Apple M5 Chip. The launch will happen sometime next year, but the pricing will probably remain at the same $3500. The cheaper variant was expected to be tagged alongside the possible Vision Pro 2, but Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that this variant will take longer to arrive. Its launch has been postponed beyond 2027.

Apple Vision Pro 2 With M5 Comes Next Year; Affordable Model After 2027

As we’ve mentioned above, Kuo also reiterated that Apple will update the current Vivion Pro with the Apple M5 chip next year. He mentions that the M5 Vision Pro will hardly attract more users. It will keep its status as a niche product with limited use cases. Kuoi also made some parallels with the HomePod lineup. According to him, the more affordable HomePod mini failed to gain traction. However, this could be different with a more affordable Vision Pro. While the headset is a niche product, with a more accessible price many users would jump in just for the sake of exploring a new concept.

If Apple successfully brings a more affordable Vision Pro to the market, it might see greater interest. Consumers may be intrigued by the opportunity to experience this innovative technology without the premium price barrier. However, as Kuo suggests, anyone waiting for a more affordable version will need to wait until 2028 at the very least. That’s a long period of waiting, and Apple could change its plans anytime in this interval. So for now, it’s better to keep focus on the standard lineup. It may receive its next update in the next year.
