Honda has revealed three new EVs at the EICMA 2024 in the form of the CUV e: electric scooter, EV Fun Concept, and EV Urban Concept

Honda has showcased three all-new electric two-wheelers at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. While two of these namely EV Fun Concept and EV Urban Concept are motorcycle concepts, the all-new CUV e: is the brand’s second electric scooter after the EM1 e: electric moped. The Japanese brand aims to launch 30 electric two-wheeler models globally by 2030.

1. All-New Honda CUV e: Scooter

The CUV e: is the company’s second offering in the electric scooter segment, which will enter mass production for the European market. Honda’s first-ever electric scooter was the EM1 e: which was introduced at EICMA 2023. The CUV e: was also showcased in concept form at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show in Japan. The term ‘CUV’ stands for Clean Urban Vehicle and Honda claims that it delivers emission-free performance and handling, equivalent to a 125cc petrol scooter.

Honda CUV e: has been equipped with two removable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries with a range of 70+ km on a single charge. The buyers can choose between a 5-inch or 7-inch TFT display. The latter comes with a fully connectivity suite via the Honda RoadSync Duo app. Some other notable features on-board are USB-C socket, Reverse Assist, all-LED lighting and three riding modes.

2. Honda EV Fun Concept

Honda EV Fun Concept makes its world premiere at the EICMA 2024. Being the brand’s first naked electric sports motorcycle, it comes with a fixed battery pack. Honda EV Fun Concept will be launched in 2025 in its production-ready avatar. The Japanese automaker says that EV Fun Concept reflects its “vision of urban mobility in the near future”. Honda further adds that the EV Fun will return performance similar to a mid-sized (125-150cc) petrol-powered motorcycle.

The official images released by Honda show the presence of brakes and suspension in the EV Fun Concept, indicating that it is the final stage of development. The fixed battery pack will deliver a range of more than 100 km on a single charge while also being compatible with CCS2 quick chargers.

3. Honda EV Urban Concept

The EV Urban Concept from Honda is yet another electric model presented at the EICMA 2024. Though as compared to other products, very little information regarding the platform or battery pack of EV Urban Concept is out in public domain, which makes us believe that it will at least take a year or so before it goes into production.

As for styling, it looks pretty identical to the BMW CE 04, which was launched earlier this year in India at a sticker price of Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom). In words of Honda, the EV Urban Concept will carry, “function-focused design, connected technologies, and in-house developed battery pack”.
