All-New Royal Enfield Classic 650 Sees Light, Bookings In January

EICMA 2024 has kickstarted in Milan, Italy and Royal Enfield, with all guns blazing, unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle last night. We earlier told you that the Chennai-based bike manufacturer will also unveil two more motorcycles at the event namely the Himalayan 450 Rally and the all-new Classic 650. Though the Himalayan 450 Rally is just an accessorized variant, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is an all-new motorcycle having made its world premiere at the EICMA 2024.
The overall styling of the Classic 650 is heavily inspired by the Classic 350. The newest member in the 650cc range of motorcycles in Royal Enfield’s portfolio borrows the circular LED headlamp, mudguard and fuel tank from its younger sibling, the Classic 350. These elements were also seen on test units spotted near the brand’s factory in Chennai.
The only big cosmetic difference in comparison to the Classic 350 is the dual pea-shooter exhaust muffler. The motorcycle will be available in multiple paint schemes namely Teal, Vallum Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue and Black Chrome. Its test drives, bookings and deliveries in India will commence in January 2025 while reservations across the UK and Europe have begun today.

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 derives power from the same 648cc parallel-twin engine which generates maximum power of 47 bhp at 7250 rpm and peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. It is paired with the 6-speed gearbox and comes standard with a slipper/assist clutch.
While styling is a direct lift-off from the Classic 350, barring a couple of elements, the chassis and the braking components have been shared with the Shotgun 650. As for features, it comes with a semi-digital instrument console with a tripper navigation pod.

The equipment list also comprises LED lighting, adjustable levers and a dual-channel ABS system. It rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels and uses specifically designed 43 mm Showa telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers with different damping. The Royal Enfield Classic 650, in all likelihood, will make its public premiere in India at the Motoverse 2024 later this month in Goa alongside the Himalayan 450 Rally and Flying Flea C6. Stay tuned for more updates from the EICMA 2024.
