Next month, players on Xbox Series X|S will be able to dive into the Fantasian Neo Dimensions achievements, when Square Enix's latest Xbox RPG releases on December 5. The game launches on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC on the same day, and according to producer Naoki Yoshida, Square Enix will launch "more and more" games simultaneously across all platforms in the future.
Square Enix plans to launch "more" games simultaneously across platforms
During a recent interview for the upcoming turn-based RPG Fantasian Neo Dimension, Square Enix producer Naoki Yoshida reaffirmed the publisher's commitment to Xbox by telling 4Gamer: "We want you to play it a lot on other platforms as well. This time, we will also release the Xbox Series X|S version at the same time. In the future, Square Enix titles will be released simultaneously on each platform more and more, but since this is close to the first release, we would like Xbox users to play it as well."
Earlier this year, the company announced that it is "aggressively pursuing" a new multiplatform strategy that includes Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC. We've already had a taste of the new strategy, with the arrival of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series in September and the upcoming launch of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake next month — it sounds like we can now look forward to even more from the company.
Last month, Yoshida revealed that Square Enix wants to bring Final Fantasy 16 to Xbox, but couldn't share any details at the time. "We do want to release it on Xbox," Yoshida said. "But when it comes to the specifics such as when the game would be available and such, we are not in a position to be able to share anything. But of course, I want to say that it’s not as if there’s zero hope, and we very much do want to achieve that. So players should not give up in terms of their hopes."
During the Tokyo Game Show in September, Square Enix shadow-dropped Trials of Mana and Legend of Mana into Xbox Game Pass.
