Nothing has officially launched its latest true wireless earbuds in India, the Nothing Ear Open. Priced at Rs 17,999, these new TWS earbuds stand out with their open-ear design, a first for the brand, diverging from the more conventional in-ear styles of the previous Nothing Ear and Ear (1). Here are the details.

The newly launched Nothing Ear Open offers a distinct look when compared with its other audio products but maintains the company's signature transparent aesthetic. In India, the Nothing Ear Open will be available in a single White colour variant, though the brand may introduce additional colours in the future. Pre-orders for the earbuds are seemingly live on Nothing’s official website, with no information on availability through other retailers as of yet. This suggests that the company might make this product available slightly late because it is immediately available in global markets.

Nothing Ear Open: Features, specs

While the Nothing Ear Open lacks Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), it compensates with a Sound Seal System and directional speakers, which the company says ensures that only a user can hear the music.

Powered by 14.2 mm dynamic drivers with a titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate diaphragm, Nothing claims that its new earbuds deliver high-quality sound. Other notable features include pinch controls, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection, and AI Clear Voice Technology for better call quality.

The Nothing Ear Open comes with an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, covering both the earbuds and the charging case. Speaking of battery life, each bud houses a 64mAh battery, while the case packs a 635mAh battery. Nothing claims that the earbuds provide up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge, with up to 30 hours when used with the charging case.

For non-Nothing smartphone users, the Nothing X app is available for download on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, enabling full functionality and customisation. There is also support for Bluetooth codecs such as AAC and SBC.
