Royal Enfield's Flying Flea FF-C6 will be an all-electric motorcycle, expected to arrive in 2026.
by Auto Today · India TodayRoyal Enfield has entered a new era in its 123-year history, launching a new EV brand. Flying Flea, as the company calls it, will help provide electric mobility solutions for the city. The first model under the Flying Flea EV brand will arrive in 2026 and will be called the FF-C6. RE has showcased a concept of the upcoming electric motorcycle, ahead of the EICMA 2024. The FF-C6 is inspired by the original Flying Flea model and is said to be a modern rendition of it.
The front suspension is a forged aluminium ‘Girder’ fork with an articulating mudguard. This fork style is synonymous with pre-1930s motorcycles. Then there’s the flowing forged aluminium frame with a magnesium battery case, all of which fit the overall design theme of the FF-C6. The round headlamp housing and single-pod instrument console also give off Classic vibes.
Royal Enfield claims to have filed 28 patents in the last six months alone, all of which pertain to a myriad of native technologies. The two-wheeler giant has also developed a central ‘Vehicle Control Unit’, which integrates all the physical and digital touchpoints, powered by a tailor-made chip created specifically for the FF.
This VCU enables over 200,000 different ride mode combinations, constantly monitors the bike and will remain up to date with Over The Air (OTA) updates and feature additions. The FF-C6, which has been showcased in both single-seat and double-seat models, will get features like lean angle sensing ABS and a domestic 3-pin plug for added convenience.
Apart from the C6, which has been showcased, RE will also bring a scrambler version under the Flying Flea brand, which will be called the S6. Since the C6 is a concept, there could be some changes made to the final production before the spring of 2026, which is when it is slated to arrive worldwide.
