KTM 390 Adventure R, SMC R and Enduro R showcased at EICMA 2024
KTM has added yet more body styles to the 390 platform, and we expect at least some of them to come to India soon.
by Auto Today · India TodayKTM unveiled several models at this year’s EICMA, but some of the most important were those based on the 390 platform, which is extremely popular in India. Currently, there’s the 390 Duke, RC 390 and 390 Adventure, along with their iterations that are sold in our country. However, some exciting unveilings like the 390 Adventure R, 390 SMC R and 390 Enduro R at the prestigious two-wheeler motor show have got fans of the Austrian motorcycle brand in India waiting in anticipation.
The KTM 390 Adventure R, which is a more off-road focussed version of the Adventure, will make its way to our shores. It is powered by the same 399cc, single-cylinder motor that powers the 390 Duke and the R produces 45.3bhp and 39Nm of torque. It gets a new chassis and swingarm along with fully adjustable USD front forks. It’s got 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, with dual-purpose tyres. It’s also got an off-road riding mode as well as a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
The KTM 390 Enduro R, which is an off-road bias variant from the 390 portfolio and takes a dual-sport approach to the body, gets a flat seat and USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, while the tyres themselves are block pattern, for better grip off-road. The 390 SMC R, on the other hand, is a supermoto, which is naturally more road-biased. It has a tubular handlebar, 17-inch wheels and an 8.8-inch TFT display. Out of the three, KTM will bring the Adventure R, but we hope the brand will also consider the SMC R and Enduro R, as well.
