Dyson has launched its new WashG1 wet floor cleaner in India at a price tag of Rs 64,900. The cleaner is now available to buy at Dyson.in and Dyson Demo stores across India. With the purchase, the company is also offering a 2-year warranty and accidental damage protection.

Dyson WashG1 specification and features

The new Dyson WashG1 is a cordless wet floor cleaner designed to handle both wet and dry dust and debris in a single pass. It is equipped with a 1-litre clean-water tank and uses a combination of hydration, absorption, and extraction techniques to clean surfaces. According to Dyson, the WashG1 can cover 3,100 square feet on a single charge, making it suitable for large areas. It also automatically separates dirt from water, ensuring easier maintenance and minimising the need for user interaction when disposing of waste.

At its core, the Dyson WashG1 is equipped with two counter-rotating rollers, each powered individually. These rollers, according to the company, are made from highly absorbent microfibers, which efficiently pick up liquid spills and dry dirt, while also handling pet hair and other debris. The machine evenly distributes water across the rollers through 26 hydration points, ensuring consistent cleaning. The counter-rotating design, with rollers placed both at the front and back of the cleaner head, increases the time spent on stains, enhancing stain removal.

For easier and more hygienic maintenance, the Dyson WashG1 features a unique debris separation system. During the product launch demo, the machine demonstrated how it extracts dirty water from the rollers and directs large debris into a removable tray. The system uses a 500-micron mesh filter to keep debris separate from the water, ensuring that the dirty water collected in its 0.8-liter tank remains isolated. The self-cleaning function saturates the rollers with clean water after each use, ensuring the cleaner is ready for the next session.

The machine’s hydration settings are adjustable, allowing users to control the amount of water applied based on floor type and the type of dirt. It offers low, medium, and high hydration modes, each with adjustable sensitivity, as well as a boost function for tougher stains. The design also includes edge-to-edge cleaning capabilities, and the compact roller head height allows for easy manoeuvring under furniture.

Talking about the new addition of Dyson’s vacuum portfolio, Charlie Park, Vice President of Dyson Home Engineering at Dyson said, “Most of us vacuum our homes regularly. But whilst wet cleaning is considered a necessary chore globally, many of us don’t know why we do it beyond the vague notion of hygiene.â€æThe Dyson WashG1 is the result of this; our first dedicated wet machine to wash hard floors, properly and hygienically.”
