Tata Nexon EV gets a bigger 45kWh battery with more range and new Red Dark variant

Tata Motors today launched the Nexon EV with a bigger battery pack offering extended range and faster charging. The Nexon EV has also got a new Red Dark variant.

The Tata Nexon is the only compact SUV on sale in India that offers petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrains.

Tata has added an option of a bigger 45kWh battery pack to the Nexon EV range, which earlier had 30kWh and 40.5kWh battery pack choices.

The Tata Nexon EV range is claimed to be 489km for the 45kWh battery pack option, 465km for the 40.5kWh battery pack option and 325km for the 30kWh battery pack option.

The Nexon EV with a 45kWh battery pack has faster charging speeds at 1.2C rating and Tata.ev's C75 real-world range of 350–370km.

The Tata Nexon EV Red Dark edition comes with distinct red-themed inserts across the exterior and interior, exclusive UI and UX for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster, as well as a panoramic sunroof and a frunk.

The new variant offers features like a smart welcome and goodbye sequence and a charging indicator built into the front LED DRL, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load tech, and a phygital control panel on the inside.
