We’re officially in the day and age where smartphones and smartwatches double as fashion accessories. The sleeker the device, the better the look. South Korean tech giant Samsung left its mark on this year’s New York Fashion Week, embracing this phenomenon: the harmony between aesthetics and functionality. Thoughtful collaborations and experiences with designers LaQuan Smith, Colin LoCascio and MSCHF championed the intersection of fashion and technology while highlighting the modern technicality powering the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Z Flip6

The fashion sphere’s obsession with gorpcore and utility-centric workwear parallels the advent of wearable tech. But with Lucid Dream by LaQuan Smith | Samsung Galaxy, the latest collaboration from the New York-based designer, these nature-bound sensibilities embrace softer, sultrier leanings exploring the synergy between form and function. Throughout the collection, LaQuan Smith envisions day-to-night looks for the modern woman and man through effortless suavity. While ideating the collection, Smith utilized the Z Fold6 to map out initial sketches and Galaxy AI capabilities to coordinate with global partners and vendors.

Thematically nodding to its 24/7 health monitoring, the stunning sleepwear ensembles spotlighted the Galaxy Ring as a practical yet stylish accessory. Jordan Chiles, Lil Nas X, Ferg, JaNa Craig, Serena Page, West Wilson, Rickey Thompson, Jordan Clarkson and more attended the show’s afterparty, testing Galaxy AI’s versatile functionality and the Galaxy Z Flip6’s all-new camera.

This immersive gallery experience brought fashion lovers a futuristic, daring excursion through the world of AI. Championing how technology can enrich artistic practices, the showcase, held on September 6 and 7, featured visual and audio artworks featuring the up-and-coming designer’s whimsical motifs. Painting the gorgeous realities birthed through image manipulation, the glamorous fête saw fashion’s elite embrace the possibilities of AI while interacting with Samsung Galaxy’s ultramodern suite of mobile tools.

What’s a ‘Gift from the Galaxy’ without a proper drop? Last week, MSCHF launched Upblob, a roguish file-sharing website better thought of as a digital void. A mischievous ad banner pointed to Samsung Galaxy. Soon after, the MSCHF x Samsung Galaxy mystery box dropped from the stars, a cosmic, hand-crafted triptych containing the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Z Flip6.
