The people behind Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua are putting the finishing touches on plans for a rematch on February 22. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has confirmed this as the intended date for the repeat of last month's face-off at Wembley Stadium.

However, the rematch between the two British fighters is slated to take place in Riyadh, with Alalshikh also hinting at a potential five verses five undercard clash between Frank Warren's Queensberry and Eddie Hearn's Matchroom promotions. Joshua's manager, Freddie Cunningham, was in Riyadh this week as discussions advanced on the rematch, although the deal is yet to be finalised.

Last month saw Dubois defend his IBF heavyweight title with a surprise victory over two-time world champion Joshua, knocking him out in the fifth round. Joshua expressed his desire for a rematch, a sentiment echoed by Dubois' team.

'AJ' has another high-stakes fight in his contract with Alalshikh's Riyadh Season events and plans to use it to seek revenge against Dubois. In other news, Alalshikh is advocating for a match between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn next year, with a potential £25m purse to be divided between the two.

He has proposed either February or May for the bout, but this hinges on Benn resolving his doping case with UK Anti-Doping. Benn provided two adverse analytical findings for the banned substance clomifene in samples taken by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association in 2022, reports the Mirror.

The latter of these led to the cancellation of an October 2022 date with Eubank Jr and sparked a UKAD investigation which is still underway.
