Manchester United's Noussair Mazraoui has had to undergo a precautionary procedure after experiencing palpitations during the draw with Aston Villa on Sunday. The right-back was substituted at half-time at Villa Park and subsequently pulled out of the Morocco squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.

He is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. Despite the concern, United sources have emphasised that Mazraoui's condition is not an emergency. He was replaced by Victor Lindelof against Villa.

The 26-year-old joined the Red Devils from Bayern Munich in August for a fee that could rise to £17.1m and has started nine out of ten matches he has been available for. His absence leaves United with just one senior full back, Diogo Dalot.

The team will resume their Premier League campaign against Brentford on October 19 before travelling to Fenerbahce in the Europa League on October 24 and West Ham United in the league on October 27. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are still out injured, with Shaw expected to return later this month and Malacia slowly returning to training following a long-term knee problem.

Given his previous experience at right back, Lindelof is expected to be back in the starting line-up when United face Brentford next Saturday, reports the Manchester Evening News.
