Aston Villa suffer big injury blow in Man United clash

Ezri Konsa was forced off injured in the first half of Aston Villa's clash with Manchester United at Villa Park

Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa came off injured in the Premier League clash against Manchester United.

Konsa appeared to pull a muscle after he cleared the ball and was then bundled over United striker Rasmus Hojlund. After being treated on the pitch for a couple of minutes, he came off.

Diego Carlos replaced Konsa to make his third Premier League appearance of the season having started in the win over Wolves and the draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Konsa will now likely miss international duty with England after being called-up to Lee Carsley's squad for the Three Lions' Nations League matches against Greece and Finland.

Jacob Ramsey, Amadou Onana and John McGinn all missed this afternoon's clash with United through injury, but Leon Bailey - who was a doubt - passed a late fitness test to start the game.

Villa face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, October 19 after the international break. Emery's side will play seven games in all competitions in a three-week period before the November international break.
