ITV The Chase's Mark Labbett's demand to player before she makes 'unforgiveable' move

The Chase viewers were left fuming as player Amanda took the lower offer and then made a huge blunder during her head-to-head with The Beast, Mark Labbett

The Chase star Mark Labbett begged a contestant to act quickly before she made a critical error. In Monday's episode, four new challengers stepped up, with Craig kicking things off strongly by adding £30,000 to the team's pot.

Following this, Amanda chose to play for a lower amount of £1,000 rather than the £3,000 she secured in the cash builder round. The quiz reached a tense point with Amanda only two steps from safety and The Beast hot on her heels just one step behind.

Presented with the question "What is the simultaneous discharge of artillery or other guns called?" and the choices "Salver", "Salvo", and "Salvage", Amanda hesitated. Host Bradley Walsh pushed for an answer as Mark urgently interjected with a loud: "Press!"

Amanda's delayed reaction resulted in her running out of time – despite her initial inclination towards A, she ultimately switched to B, which was indeed the correct answer, aligning with The Beast's knowledge. He expressed regret at winning by such a margin, saying, "We like to win, but not that way," and explained his earlier shouts insisting on a choice because "That's why I was screaming press because anything is better than nothing," reports the Express.

The incident led to an outcry from viewers, especially regarding Amanda's decision for the smaller amount, with comments like: "Taking the low offer is unforgivable," and calls for The Chaser to eliminate her swiftly.
