Chris Eubank Jr faces Kamil Szeremeta in the IV Crown Showdown this weekend.

The bout takes place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and features a stacked card of top boxers. Joining Szeremeta and Eubank Jr on the line-up are the likes of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, who are headlining the card, as well as British heavyweights Frazer Clarke and Fabio Wardley.

Eubank's last defeat came up against Liam Smith in 2023 at Manchester Arena, before defeating him in the re-match. Saturday's clash against Szeremeta will be the Englishman's first bout of 2024.

Let's get to know a bit more about the man with the famous boxing surname.

Conor Benn altercation

In the lead up to this fight, Eubank Jr had to separated from Conor Benn as security intervened.

Benn, who was supposed to fight Eubank Jr before he failed two doping tests, shoved his former rival before unleashing a barrage of verbal abuse at him. It transpired as follows:

“I’ll see you tomorrow, after the fight,” said Benn. “I’ll f***ing give it to you. Yeah, of course, mate. You’re f***ing lucky you’re fighting tomorrow.”

Benn shoved Eubank Jr, who remained calm and smiled throughout it all, before Benn continued having his outburst. “I’ll f*** you up,” Benn added. “Watch what happens, dead boy walking.

“I’ll give you a good ass-beating in front of 60,000, that’s what’s gonna happen. I’ll be there tomorrow, arrogant p***k.”

Relationship with dad

Eubank Jr has admitted that his father is no longer in his boxing life, as the heavyweight wants to be his "own man".

Eubank Sr is considered to be one of the greatest ever British boxers and was named the third best British super-middleweight boxer of all time by BoxRec. Eubank Jr made his boxing debut 13 years ago, and his father, due to his own fame, was very much at the centre of operations for his son.

However, nowadays, Eubank Jr doesn't see his father very often. "He doesn't have a role which is pretty crazy because for a huge part of my career he was a massive part of everything, the business side, the press conferences, the training... he was always there and now he's not there for any of it," he told Mirror Fighting.

"I had to make that transition, I had to step out of that cycle because I felt it wasn't working and as my own man, I had learned enough and had done enough in the game to do my own thing, to walk my own path and not follow someone else. At this moment in time he's having trouble separating the business and the boxing and the coaching from being just my dad.

"For so many reasons that's how he was my dad so when that's not there, he doesn't know what to do, that's what he's dealing with right now. I think it's going to take me being out of boxing for him to come back into my life. I hope that's not the case but that's how I see it. I'm very appreciative of everything he did and everything he taught me throughout my life and my career but I want to be my own man and that's what I'm doing now."

Brother's death

Eubank Jr's brother Sebastien died in Dubai three years ago after suffering a heart attack.

It was only one month after he had become a father, and Eubank Jr compassionately took on the fatherly duties, and now considers Raheem his own son.

"I've had to mature, I became a father overnight," he explained. "My brother passed away and now it's my duty and my honour to step in and fulfil that father figure for his son Raheem, my nephew whom I now consider a son. It was a horrible thing that happened but I've used the love I have for Raheem to strengthen and focus what I'm doing.

"It has been tough but I have to be strong for my family. You become more aware, there's a lot more on the line now. When kids get involved, you want to make sure you're there for their entire life. It puts a lot of things in your head and you have to move forward in your career adjusting things."

Love life and net worth

Eubank Jr keeps his cards close to his chest with much of his personal life, and at the time of writing it appears he isn't dating anyone, and is a single man.

There have been rumours in the past about Eubank Jr having dated the following reality stars: Love Islander Megan Barton-Hanson, musician Rita Ora, Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattinson and TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh.

The Pattinson rumours come after she was pictured back stage with Eubank Jr after a fight in 2015. She said at the time: "I had such a good time at Chris Eubank Jr’s fight. He’s my jungle pal Chris Eubank’s son and I’m in love with him. He’s gorgeous. But it’d probably terrify Chris Sr if I ever tried to get with him.

“I think I’m the only person in the world he’d be scared of."

With the Mecklenburgh links, the pair were spotted visiting a night club in Los Angeles in 2018, but nothing came of that either. Katie Price had even been accused of flirting with Eubank Jr on Loose Women, but again, nothing more than a brief interaction - as it seems anyway.

Eubank Jr reportedly wined and dined Barton-Hanson in London's West End five years ago. A source said to The Sun: “Chris was really smitten with Megan – they were flirty and enjoyed several dates together.

“Megan had fun spending time with him and was really flattered by his affections. It was exactly what she needed after a painful breakup. But Chris spent a few months in Los Angeles so it became difficult for him and Megan to carry on getting to know each other.

As for his finances, Eubank Jr's net worth is widely reported to be around the £5million mark.
