Ronnie O'Sullivan shows true colours after beating woman at tournament
by Dylan James · Wales OnlineRonnie O'Sullivan made a classy gesture to the female world number one after beating her.
Mink Nutcharut went head-to-head with O'Sullivan, one of the greatest ever players, in the International Championship. After potting the black to secure the victory, the Englishman made his way over to Nutcharut to shake hands with his opponent, who is half his age.
O'Sullivan then proceeded to encourage the crowd to applaud the young player. It was a wholesome moment to conclude the session, with O'Sullivan surviving a scare to defeat his opponent 6-3 in Nanjing, China.
The commentator said: "Very gracious, O'Sullivan asking the crowd to applaud Mink Nutcharut at the end. That's a nice way to finish."
The 48-year-old qualified for the second round of the tournament, and after the match, he explained that it was a "privilege" to face the women's top seed, who hails from Thailand.
"An absolute privilege to play such a talented opponent," he said. "Thank you for the game and good luck in the future."
On Monday morning, O'Sullivan defeated He Guoqiang in the second round.
