Full ‘MNF’ predictions, odds: Dolphins vs. Titans, Lions vs. Seahawks
· New York Post“Monday Night Football” this week features another doubleheader — the second of four this season — as the Titans travel to Miami and the Seahawks play at Detroit.
Here are our picks on the total and against the spread for both games.
Titans-Dolphins spread
The Dolphins have settled in as 2.5-point favorites after this was nearly a pick’em. The look-ahead line over the summer was Miami -6.5, but much has changed for both teams since then.
The Dolphins are down to their third-string quarterback after Skylar Thompson suffered broken ribs against Seattle and was limited in practice all week. Tyler Huntley, the former backup in Baltimore behind Lamar Jackson, will be under center Monday night.
The Titans have their own problems in Year 1 under coach Brian Callahan. They have been atrocious on defense over the past few weeks and allowed their former quarterback, Malik Willis, to lead the Packers to a comfortable victory in Week 3.
You have to wonder if they wish they still had Willis on their roster the way Will Levis has performed this season. Levis went into Week 4 as the worst-graded quarterback in the NFL, per Pro Footbal Focus.
Even with Huntley, I’ll drink the juice and roll with the Dolphins’ moneyline.
The pick: Dolphins moneyline (-140, bet365)
Titans-Dolphins total
With Miami failing to score a touchdown last week and chaos at quarterback, the point total has plummeted from 46 points to 36. And it’s justified, considering the Dolphins (No. 24) and the Titans (No. 29) own some of the NFL’s lowest-graded offenses after three weeks, per PFF.
Though both teams have inadequate quarterback play, they do have plenty of talent at the skill positions. Expect these quarterbacks to make short, quick passes to their receivers and screens to their running backs to pick up momentum offensively.
Though the dip on the total is justified, 10 points is a bit too much, and the over now holds value.
The pick: Titans-Dolphins Over 37 (-110, FanDuel)
Seahawks-Lions spread
The line opened at six points in favor of the Lions. However, following the Seahawks’ 3-0 start, the line has since dropped to just 3.5 points.
Seattle’s defense has been suffocating, holding opponents to the fourth-fewest points per game and second-fewest yards per game. PFF has given the Seahawks defense the league’s highest grade through three weeks.
Mike Macdonald has instantly turned the Seahawks into one of the better teams in the NFL. Still, this is a good buy-low opportunity on the Lions. Seattle has yet to be truly tested, facing bottom-dwelling teams like Denver, New England and Miami without Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) under center.
The Lions are a completely different beast that still hasn’t fully clicked on offense. If they do, they should have no problem covering this spread.
The pick: Lions -3.5 (-110, DraftKings)

Seahawks-Lions total
Macdonald has constructed a dangerous defense in Seattle, and the Lions have also been impressive on that side of the ball.
Seattle has yet to face even a moderately talented defense, so this matchup could present some problems, especially with Aidan Hutchinson certain to cause chaos in the pass rush.
Ultimately, this is a fairly significant total for two teams that have top-three defenses, per PFF.
The pick: Under 46.5 (-110, BetMGM)
