Jabrill Peppers will be ‘gone’ from Patriots if disturbing allegations are true: Robert Kraft

· New York Post

Robert Kraft has now spoken out on Jabrill Peppers being placed on the commissioner’s exempt list.

And, according to the New England owner, if allegations against Peppers are true, he won’t be a Patriot for much longer.

On Wednesday, the Patriots safety was placed on the list after he was arrested last weekend on strangulation and cocaine possession charges related to allegations of choking his girlfriend and pushing her down a flight of stairs.

Kraft, during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” on Friday morning, confirmed the Patriots would part ways with Peppers if the allegations against him come out to be true.

However, he emphasized that the team would wait until all the facts were confirmed before making any final decisions.

Kraft even referenced his arrest for solicitation at a massage parlor in 2019, of which his charges were dropped.

“We’re living in a world now with so much on social media and so much that’s reported is unfair in these kind of situations,” Kraft said. “When you read the thing initially, it turns your stomach. But we’ve learned — and I don’t know the facts in this case and [Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo] called me, we spoke about it, once he goes on the commissioner’s exempt list, they do their independent checking. We’re doing ours. And if what is reported is true, he’s gone.

“There have been some suggestions that this was a setup and what’s reported is not accurate. I’ve seen in life that if someone, well take any one of the three of you. You have profiles. Someone could set up something and say something, it’s just not true. I’ve personally had that happen with me. I have a saying I used with all my key people. Important decisions in life, you measure nine times and you cut once. And I think in this case, if what’s been reported is true, he’s gone, but we want to get the facts.”

Last Saturday, police responded to a disturbance call at 4:15 a.m. for an incident involving Peppers and his girlfriend.

The caller described that the former Giant “hit her, choked her, and took off her clothing and put her outside.”

However, Peppers denied the woman’s claims, saying she was acting “erratic” because of his refusal to have unprotected sex with her, per court documents obtained by TMZ.

Peppers pleaded not guilty to the charges of with assault and battery; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; strangulation; and possession of a Class “B” substance believed to be cocaine at an arraignment on Monday.

He posted $2,500 bail and was ordered to stay away from the woman.

Peppers’ attorney, Marc Brofsky, stated the evidence in the case “sheds real doubt on the allegations, including videotaped evidence.”

While on leave from the league, Peppers will not practice or attend games,

However, he will continue to be paid on his third year of the three-year $24 million deal with the Patriots.
