Ice Cube rocked Dodgers Stadium on Friday as the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated their 2024 World Series victory in their home stadium after winning the championship in New York on Wednesday.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts joined the L.A. native rapper-actor-entrepreneur on the mound for a rousing rendition of “It Was a Good Day” with a few lyrical changes to reflect the Dodgers’ victory over the Yankees. Cube opened up the event with a hard-charging “Westside Connection,” also with lyrical tweaks to salute the Boys in blue: “Before any of you Yankees get hard/bow down when you come to our town” and “We ain’t no haters like you/Bow down to a team that’s greater than you — fool.”

Thousands of Dodgers fans poured into the stadium Friday for the home town celebration of the franchise’s eighth World Series title — including the team’s early decades in Brooklyn. The 2024 victory also marked the team’s third World Series victory over the Yankees. The Dodgers last won the World Series in 2020, when the celebration was muted because of the pandemic.
