Bukayo Saka sums up Arsenal’s Kai Havertz in two words after ‘perfect’ Champions League night

The latest Arsenal news as the forward scored in his third straight game as the Gunners came out as 2-0 winners over PSG at the Emirates Stadium.

There was plenty of talk over the summer transfer window surrounding Arsenal adding to their centre-forward options, but Kai Havertz’s goalscoring shows why it wasn’t integral to Mikel Arteta’s side.

The German was on the scoresheet again on Tuesday night as Arsenal came out as 2-0 winners over French giants Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday night. Havertz opened the scoring in the 20th minute, before Bukayo Saka’s free kick doubled the Gunners’ lead 15 minutes later.

It was a night described as ‘perfect’ by Havertz, who posted pictures of him celebrating his goal along with a caption reading: “Prefect night under the lights.”

In the comments, Saka summed up Havertz in one word and one emoji. He wrote: “On (fire emoji).”

The goal against PSG was Havertz's fifth for Arsenal in all competitions so far this season, and his third in as many games. The 25-year-old was on the scoresheet in the 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Bolton last week before netting late against Leicester City in the 4-2 win on Saturday afternoon.

Havertz arrived at the club as a midfield player but has been adapted into a forward by Arteta, and has thrived in the role. He scored 14 times in all competitions last season, but will look to eclipse that number this time around.

Speaking in his post-match press conference , Arteta praised Havertz for his performance. “So powerful, but as well he's so intelligent,” he said.

“The way he occupies the spaces, the way he glides everything together. Now when he's around the box and you have the feeling he's going to score a goal. The goal was superb and overall a really good performance. So really pleased with him.”

Havertz will look to extend his scoring run to four games when Arsenal take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell to a 3-1 defeat against Bournemouth on Monday night.
