Latest Arsenal news as Mikel Arteta suffers an unwanted injury problem during the international break

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been forced off in England's UEFA Nations League fixture with Greece at Wembley Stadium on Thursday night.

Despite starting every game for the Gunners this season, Saka was named in the Three Lions starting XI by interim boss Lee Carsley. He lasted up until the 50th minute before limping off.

Saka seemed to be caught in the build-up to Vangelis Pavlidis' opener for Greece at the start of the second half. He went down while the visitors celebrated before going off after receiving treatment by a physio.

It comes as a huge blow for the Gunners as they lost captain Martin Odegaard to injury in the last international break. The Norway star hasn’t featured for the club since the 1-1 home draw with Brighton on August 31.

For Arsenal, Saka has played 10 times in all competitions this campaign. He has scored three times and assisted an impressive seven times.

There were no apparent signs of what the problem was for the 23-year-old when he went down at Wembley. He managed to walk off the pitch himself, without any assistance.

Carsley is expected to provide an update on the problem in his post-match press conference with everyone at the Emirates Stadium hoping the problem isn’t a serious one.
