Wrexham's goalless stalemate with Leyton Orient resulted in the Dragons sliding down the League One table, falling behind Tom Brady's Birmingham City. Brady's side was also the last to triumph over Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's club on Sept.16, halting their four-match winning run.

The Red Dragons found themselves under pressure at Gaughan Group Stadium as Leyton Orient controlled the majority of the first hour, forcing Wrexham into a more defensive stance. The O's were within striking distance just two minutes into the match but failed to capitalise, sending the shot wide of the post.

Leyton Orient's hunger for a goal persisted, with Sean Clare's attempt flying over the crossbar just fourteen minutes later. The team squandered all nine of their opportunities, registering only one shot on target against Wrexham, who managed two shots on goal throughout the match.

As exhaustion crept in, the pace of the game dwindled, with neither side able to seize late chances. Clare suffered an injury towards the end of the first half, prompting a tactical shift as Jordan Brown came on to replace him.

Despite the draw, Leyton Orient supporters took to social media to celebrate the result, proud of snatching a point from one of the league's top challengers. Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens also commended his team's performance, particularly in the first half.

"I thought we dominated the first half and should have been 3-0 up," Wellens said post-match. "For 20 minutes in the second half, we were outstanding, but after a few forced changes in the last 20 minutes, if there was one team that looked like winning, it was probably them," he conceded.

Wrexham's gaffer Phil Parkinson acknowledged his team's struggle to hit top form. "It's a valuable point on our travels. Were we at our best in the early exchanges? Probably not, but we stuck at it," he remarked following the match.

"The lads have dug deep today. And any point you get in this league, especially away, is hard-earned and we're pleased with it."

While Parkinson was happy with the point, the draw against 18th-placed Orient adds to a wobbly run for the top of the table team, with a run of just two wins in their last five league games.

In a cheeky social media move before their Sept. 16 clash with Birmingham City, Wrexham roped in NFL legend Eli Manning for some pre-game banter aimed at the celebrity owners. The club shared a snap of Manning donning a Wrexham jersey.

They wrote: "We are honored that Eli Manning has coincidentally [because Co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan begged him] joined the Wrexham fanbase, just in time for our match over at Tom Brady's Birmingham on Monday night."

Brady took the banter in his stride, cheekily showing off one of his seven Super Bowl trophies and joking that he couldn't find the other six. He playfully asked Wrexham's co-owners to give their fans a lesson in NFL history, reminding them all that he holds the record for the most Super Bowl wins.
