Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua’s teams are finalising details for a February 22 rematch.

Saudi boxing boss Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that is the target date for the rerun of last month’s clash at Wembley Stadium. But the rematch will take place in Riyadh and Alalshikh also revealed the undercard could be a 5 v 5 clash between Frank Warren’s Queensberry and Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom promotions.

Joshua’s manager Freddie Cunningham was in Riyadh this week as talks progressed on the rematch. The deal is not done yet. Dubois defended the IBF heavyweight title with an upset win over Joshua last month when he knocked him out in the fifth round.

Joshua indicated that he wanted the rematch and Dubois’ team were immediately willing to do it again.

‘AJ’ has another mega money fight in his contract with Alalshikh’s Riyadh Season events and will use it to try to get revenge against Dubois.

Meanwhile, Alalshikh is pushing for Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn to face each other next year with a potential £25m purse to be split between the two.

He has earmarked February or May for the bout but it is dependent on Benn sorting his doping case out with UK Anti-Doping.

Benn provided two adverse analytical findings for banned substance clomifene in samples taken by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association in 2022.

The latter of those cancelled an October 2022 date with Eubank Jr and led to a UKAD investigation which is still ongoing.
