Formula One pundit and commentator Martin Brundle has amassed a considerable wealth thanks to his dual careers as both a racing driver and as a television personality

Martin Brundle is one of Formula One's wealthiest figures, even though he hasn't raced in nearly three decades.

The 65-year-old has established himself as a prominent pundit and commentator since hanging up his racing gloves and has been a key figure in Sky Sports' F1 broadcast team since 2012. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Brundle's fortune sits at an impressive $100million (£75.7m), with a significant portion amassed through his extensive media career, which included stints at ITV and the BBC.

In the last 20 years or so, he has evolved into one of British sport's most recognisable and beloved figures – a status reflected in his substantial net worth. During his 12-year stint as an F1 driver, despite failing to achieve the same level of success as fellow Britons Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill, Brundle reportedly netted around £11m.

He also pocketed a decent amount through other racing exploits, including participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans – a race he famously won in 1990. The remainder of his considerable wealth stems from a combination of sponsorship agreements, brand partnerships, and media work.

Considering Brundle's lifelong passion for motorsports, it's unsurprising that he's invested a significant portion of his wealth in an impressive car collection. His garage boasts an array of some of the most iconic and desirable vehicles in the world.

In a 2021 interview with Evo Magazine, Brundle expressed his fondness for his Aston Martin DBS. However, he particularly cherishes his Porsche Cayenne 4.2 V8 diesel, which he often uses for long-distance road trips.

His collection has included several Ferraris over the years, such as the 328 GTS, 355 GTB, and 550 Maranello. Additionally, he owns a bespoke Eagle E-Type Jaguar and a Ford Escort Hot Rod that he personally modified and enhanced.

Brundle is a highly-respected commentator and pundit, but his legendary grid walks are arguably the crown jewel of his professional repertoire. Providing unparalleled access to drivers in the critical moments before a race, as well as memorable and sometimes deliciously awkward interactions with celebrities, the grid walks have become a cherished fixture of the F1 schedule for UK viewers.

However, savour them while you can because as Brundle recently confessed that he might be "one interview away" from calling it quits. Speaking to GQ, the former racer, who revealed he adopts an "alter ego" during the segment, said: "I always feel I’m one interview away from the end of my career."

He continued: "It’s so not my personality to run around being cheeky, but my alter ego comes out. When you’ve got millions of people sitting on your shoulder looking for some inside information, some entertainment, you just have to go for it.

"First and foremost, it’s sport, it’s entertainment: we have to be fun to watch. It’s the uncomfortable interactions that people love and that’s fine by me.

"Quite often, the A-listers look at me like I’m from outer space," Brundle added. "And it’s like: ‘Hang on, I thought you were briefed! I thought you knew I was coming'."

Brundle was born and raised in Norfolk, and presently resides with his spouse in Gayton, a village located just a short distance from King's Lynn, his childhood hometown. He has two children: a daughter named Charlotte, and a son, Alex, who has pursued a career in motorsport like his father. Alex has participated in Formula 2, Formula E, and British Formula 3 championships, and has also competed in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
