Tom Holland, famed for his role as Spider-Man, made a young fan's day at the BMW PGA Championship in Surrey. The actor, who has starred in the recent film trilogy, is also a skilled amateur golfer and took part in the Pro-Am event at the DP World Tour's flagship event on Wednesday, which pairs celebrities with top golfers to the delight of fans.

The crowd was buzzing, many eager to see the web-slinging hero in person, but none more so than Tommy Fleetwood's son Frankie, who donned his Spider-Man costume while watching his dad play at Wentworth Club.

Frankie, who previously wowed spectators with his tee shot at the Masters' par-three event, caught Holland's attention with his Augusta National swing. "I saw you swing a club at the Masters," Holland remarked to the young Fleetwood.

"Most people dream of hitting a ball at the Masters! " he continued, clearly impressed. "That is pretty cool that you hit a ball at the Masters."

The meeting wasn't just about golf; there was also time for some fun as they snapped a photo together doing the iconic Spider-Man hand gesture.

Holland's golf game is on the up, with the actor now boasting a handicap of 2.9. The English actor took to the greens alongside his brothers Harry and Sam for a Pro-Am event, where they teamed up with European Ryder Cup ace Tommy Fleetwood.

The Holland brothers and Fleetwood proved to be an unstoppable force, clinching victory at the event with a staggering 31-under-par foursomes score. "I birdied the last two holes to get us over the 30 mark. It's always me," quipped Fleetwood after their round.

He also noted the competitive edge among the Hollands: "I can see they [the Holland brothers] are very, very competitive and hold a similar standard. So I can see it getting nasty on a match between them."

Post-victory, Fleetwood faced the press at Wentworth, and talk inevitably turned to the hot topic in European golf Jon Rahm's Ryder Cup eligibility amidst the LIV Golf controversy. Fleetwood weighed in, saying, "I think, you know, there can be a Ryder Cup Team without any particular player in it. I think everyone is well aware, that the Ryder Cup is much bigger than any individual player, and of course, there are certain people that are a big month in terms of stat and what their game can bring to the team.

"But you know, I think if you look at the last Ryder Cup Team, there was a big deal made about who we were missing in the last Ryder Cup in terms of not even -- playing is one side and presence in a team room is another and we didn't have a lot of big characters in the last one. You don't want to lose anybody that you know that you can have there but at the same time, the Ryder Cup is much bigger than all of us."
