Christine Lampard joins Sky Sports stars in all-female rival to Gary Neville podcast

TV presenter Christine Lampard is due to get involved in a weekly show reacting to football's biggest talking points

Christine Lampard has joined Sky Sports stars in a new podcast to rival Gary Neville's.

The ITV presenter is joining Kelly Cates and Hayley McQueen to launch a podcast called Not Just Football on October 8. The three of them will be presenting the weekly show where they will react to the biggest news in football.

They will also talk about different topics away from the sports and will interview experts. All of the hosts have their own connections to football - Christine being married to former Chelsea player Frank Lampard and Kelly and Hayley's friendship going back decades due to their father's playing the sport.

Speaking to Mail Online, Kelly said: "What we're looking for is something from the weekends football that isn't necessarily being covered elsewhere. There are so many football podcasts and trying to find something that isn't done is really tricky.

"So it's not about analysis. It's not necessarily about a deep dive into the tactics of the North London Derby or whatever, but it's about the stories around it more than that."

While Hayley said that the three ladies will talk about their personal lives on the podcast as well. She said: "We've all gone through very different things in life, and I think we'll be speaking quite openly about some of the challenges that we faced in our personal lives, and in our careers.

"We're not going to be there as three women pretending. It's not going to be like Loose Women, that's for sure. I think it'll be very, very different to the current Stick to Football in that none of us have played, but we've all been influenced by the game in different ways."

This comes as Christine recently revealed that her son Freddie is obsessed with wearing football kits, choosing different ones to wear each day but mainly loving the Northern Ireland one at the moment.

It won't come as a huge surprise Freddie is football mad, given his dad is Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, but his choice of kit isn't his dad's favourite right now.

Christine explained: "My little boy's obsessed with kits and at the moment he wants to wear them every day. At the minute he loves the Northern Irish kit which is obviously all green. He’s got the new England kit actually, his aunt bought it for him recently, but he doesn’t want to wear it. He comes downstairs and Frank’s like 'do you know what you did?' And I get a little kick out of that!"
