Jude Bellingham has debunked the 'don't meet your heroes' stance by brushing shoulders with David Beckham.

The two footballing icons met for a shoot of EA Sports' brand-new FC 25 video game, both featuring on the cover of the Ultimate Edition alongside Gianluigi Buffon, Aitana Bonmatí, and Zinedine Zidane. And while many people hold a stance that you should never meet your heroes, Bellingham has admitted that Beckham was an incredibly down-to-earth character despite his long list of footballing achievements.

Speaking on episode three of his 'Out Of The Floodlights' series on YouTube, Bellingham said: "It's an honour really you know. There's always that thing about don't meet your heroes and he's [Beckham's] one that I've met and I've actually thought 'He's amazing and he seems like a really down to earth guy' regardless of how famous he is and what he's achieved in his career and in his life.

"He makes me look a little bit uglier, but you can learn to deal with that if it's on the cover of video games." Bellingham also noted how it was a dream come true to meet and play alongside some of the best players that he looked up to growing up. He continued: "I've played every single EA since I was six, seven.

"Some of your best memories are sitting around a tiny little telly with a couple of controllers on their last legs because they've been bashed around the room, having games with players you never think you'd play against - you never think you'd meet. And then all of a sudden, I'm on the cover and I'm meeting and playing amongst these players.

"It's really surreal and I'm really grateful that I've been given a chance to do it." Beckham was also heard asking Bellingham's parents 'What are you feeding the boys' after being left surprised by the height of Jude and his brother Jobe.

Beckham rose through the ranks of Manchester United's youth academy before signing for the first team in 1992, going on to win six Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, two Charity Shields, an Intercontinental Cup and a Champions League with Sir Alex Ferguson.

He moved to Real Madrid in 2003 for around £25million, lifting a Supercopa de Espana and a La Liga trophy before making his way to LA Galaxy in 2007. After enjoying loans to AC Milan in 2009 and 2010, Beckham made the move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, hanging his boots up after one season with a Ligue 1 trophy for his efforts.

Bellingham has also seen a monumental rise to superstardom in his own right. The 21-year-old kicked off his senior career with Birmingham City in 2019 at the age of just 16, before attracting Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund after just one season. The Blues even retired the number 22 shirt in his honour when he made his way to Germany in a reported £20million move.

The midfielder was snapped up by Real Madrid in 2023 for £89million, enjoying a whirlwind maiden season at the Bernabeu. Not only did Bellingham lift the La Liga title, a Champions League trophy, a Supercopa de Espana and a Super Cup after just one year with Los Blancos, he did it in remarkable fashion - scoring 23 goals in 42 games across all competitions.

He also represented Gareth Southgate's Three Lions in the recent Euro 2024 tournament in Germany, scoring two goals from attacking midfield and helping his nation secure their spot in the final before falling to Spain.
