Jose Mourinho has already admitted his excitement about becoming a grandfather one day ahead of his daughter's upcoming wedding.

The Fenerbahce boss is preparing to walk his daughter Matilde, 28, down the aisle on Saturday (October 12) as she finally gets hitched to her fiancee, Danny Graham.

The couple first began their romance in 2016 when she quickly whisked him off on a holiday to Portugal to reportedly meet her grandparents.

After getting engaged in August of last year, the pair will now get hitched in the Portuguese town of Azeitao at their family farm in a celebration that will last for two days, according to Spanish publication Marca.

The official ceremony will take place at the Mourinho family house in Portugal on Saturday before the second day of festivities will see the guests gather again at Herdade do Perú, in Azeitão. The newlyweds, who'll already don their wedding rings, will once again welcome their friends and family.

According to The Mag by Flash, the wedding will be a completely private ceremony, with more than 300 people expected to bear witness to the glorious celebration. The publication also reported that a day before the wedding, Mourinho has organised a dinner for 80 guests at the José Maria da Fonseca House Museum, where intimate groups of the happy couple will be present.

Matilde's long-time partner is a director and co-founder of the property consultancy company Agace and Graham. It is not clear if the couple have intentions to start a family one day but Mourinho has already admitted he would love to become a grandad.

In a 2022 interview with Esquire after winning the Conference League, Mourinho revealed that he's likely to get a tattoo commemorating the birth of his first grandchild. "Football-wise I don't think I'll get any more (tattoos)," the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid boss answered.

"This one I promised everyone; the idea was to get a unique tattoo that only I could have: the three European cups won. The next one I might get if my son or daughter had a baby girl or boy; it would be a special gift and a tattoo could be a nice way to celebrate it."

Despite being the daughter of one of football's greatest-ever managers, Matilde is a success in her own right having graduated with a master's degree from the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design in August 2021.

She's since created her own jewellery brand ‘Matilde Sustainable Jewellery’, a company based in London that has collaborated with big names like Stormzy, while Jose is also a regular wearer of the brand's necklaces, pendants, and rings.

The current international break will allow the 61-year-old to attend the wedding before swiftly getting back to action with Fenerbahce who return to action to take on Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig next Sunday (October 20).
