Newsboy’s horseracing tips for Friday’s four meetings, including Ascot Nap

Newsboy fancies his nap, Tareefa, to win at Ascot and also hopes Kinetic can score at Newcastle and complete his Daily Double

TAREEFA is fancied to rack up a hat-trick in the Victoria Racing Club Classified Stakes (5.05) at Ascot on Friday afternoon.

William Haggas’s daughter of Night Of Thunder didn’t make her racecourse debut until June, starting off with a promising fourth at Haydock.

Tareefa then went three places better with a three-quarter-length score at Newmarket three weeks later and returned to Haydock to follow up in a novice stakes for fillies last time out.

That success proved my selection’s ability to handle rain-softened ground and Tom Marquand’s mount, a half-sister to Group 1 winner Nezwaah, still has more to offer.

Tareefa is just 1lb shy of the top-rated horse in this classified stakes and should go in again en route to better things.

At Newcastle, KINETIC has plenty going for him in the Quinnbet Handicap (4.15).

James Owen’s three-year-old is in rare form, having registered four handicap scores from his last five attempts, the latest win coming with a three-and-a-quarter-length margin at Southwell eight days ago.

A 6lb penalty leaves Kinetic 1lb ahead of the handicapper and the presence in the saddle of apprentice title race leader Sean Dylan Bowen in the saddle is the icing on the cake.
