American team captain Jim Furyk was overcome with emotion after his team triumphed against the International Team in Montreal, sealing yet another Presidents Cup victory.

Under Furyk's leadership, the USA secured their tenth consecutive Presidents Cup win, this time having the last laugh after South Korea's Tom Kim called out the team's behaviour. The road to victory was fraught with tension; after a rapid 5-0 lead, they saw the International Team level the score at 5-5, leaving everything to play for.

Then chaos turned to celebration when 38-year-old Keegan Bradley captured the decisive point following Si Woo Kims missed opportunities. Afterward, Furyk regained his composure and spoke to NBC Sports about what the iconic win signified for him as captain.

"It's a lot of fun," he said. "I love these guys. I love these events. We love the camaraderie. We put a lot of heart and soul into it but ultimately, these players were amazing. It was a really good group of 12, an easy bunch. I had great leadership at the top. They made the captain's job really easy.

"And these guys played their hearts out this week and played really, really well in the back nine. We talked about being a dog all week, being a tougher team. I just feel like those back nine holes, if you looked at how many holes won and lost, I feel like we would kind of own the back nine this week and that was the difference."

Furyk, the captain of the 2018 Ryder Cup team, has opened up about the lessons he learned from the tournament where his American team suffered a heavy defeat to Europe. The 54-year-old faced significant criticism for the team's performance but used the experience to improve his strategy.

"I was ahead of schedule where I was in Paris," Furyk recalled. "I think I was always half a day ahead on my pairings on being prepared for the next step. And what happens at the end of matches ... we were already working on that well ahead of time. I felt very prepared going into every match.

"I think most of what I took away from 18 is just being more prepared being a half a day, a half a step ahead I said of where I was in 18 and it made me feel more comfortable about the groupings we were putting out."

Furyk's new approach paid off, as evidenced by the recent win. Keegan Bradley, who played under Furyk's leadership, shared his thoughts on the experience and how it will shape their preparation for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

"Well, we're going to copy a lot of what Jim Furyk did this week," Bradley said. "He set a culture here for us and we're going to carry that over into Bethpage and I hope a lot of these 12 are on that team."

Bradley also expressed his enjoyment of playing in a team environment again, saying: "I missed the guys,".

"The guys, they're just incredible. They really love each other, the wives and caddies love each other. It's such an amazing atmosphere and I'm just so proud of the team and I'm proud of just being here."
