Alejandro Garnacho's brother defends Erik ten Hag amid Manchester United woes
by Isaac Seelochan · Manchester Evening NewsAlejandro Garnacho's brother, Roberto, has launched a passionate defence of under-fire Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on social media.
United had picked up some form after the international break with 10 goals in wins against Southampton and Barnsley. However, the Reds drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace last weekend before a 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the Europa League.
The disappointing results have put pressure on Ten Hag, who was backed by Ineos this summer despite United finishing eighth in the Premier League last season. But Roberto has argued that Ten Hag was not responsible for the draw against Twente and highlighted the team's lack of goals as a major issue.

"Btw you all blame Ten Hag, but 11 United players not being able to smash them at home, I don’t think that’s on Ten Hag mate," he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"We literally dominated the whole game, we couldn’t score more than a goal, individual mistake makes them score, what’s he supposed to do? They were not even getting into our box, if we are not able to score more than a goal against Twente, it is not on him (their goal was a mistake from one of our players too).
"Same last game btw, dominated but couldn’t score a goal, somehow last week it was the wingers' fault, this one Ten Hag's. If last game we would have gone 2-0 at half-time and won (attackers' fault because they couldn’t score their chances) you all would say he is being perfect, same today."
Following a lacklustre performance in front of goal against Twente, Ten Hag conceded: "We have to score more goals. That is the problem, the key area is to score more goals as a team. We have players across the team who have the ability to score, that is clear."
United are set to take on Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. In addition to their domestic challenges, United's Europa League journey will see them face a host of teams, including Porto, Fenerbahce, PAOK, Bodo Glimt, Viktoria Pilzen, Rangers, and Steaua Bucharest.
Under the competition's revised structure, the top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16, while those ranked ninth to 24th will enter a seeded play-off round.
