I would now love Paul Pogba at Man United - Erik ten Hag revealed transfer problems at the club
by Tom Coley · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United have been pushed to sign Paul Pogba, once again, as the midfielder prepares for a return to football. It's four months until the 31-year-old will be eligible for selection in competitive games, but at first there are questions over his future to solve.
Pogba is contracted for another 18 months by current team Juventus - who he re-joined on a free transfer for the second time having left United in 2022 - but the expectation is that he will not play for the Turin club again. As the 2018 World Cup winner looks to find a new home, plenty of suitors have been linked with making an ambitious ploy to get him on to their books.
Among them are PSG, Marseille and even Arsenal, but United have also been touted as a possibility. According to Louis Saha, Pogba would offer plenty to his old side in a third spell.

"Paul Pogba can go wherever he wants," the ex-France, Everton and Fulham man told bookmakers Paddy Power.
"If he's given the platform to show his talent once again, people will be reminded of just how special he is. He can play in the Champions League; he can play for France and I'm a big fan of his."
Saha, who also spent three-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, added: "I've always been harsh on him because, when you have that talent, you have a responsibility. He's going to be super motivated when he comes back.
"I would love to see him at United because, when you look at their midfield, they've lost Scott McTominay - which is a loss because he contributed to the team well. When you look at how things went with previous managers and try to understand what happened you see there were mistakes made - and letting Pogba go was a sign that things are difficult to manage at Manchester United.
"That wasn't just an Erik ten Hag problem, several very talented players struggled with the club's transition. There were problems with Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and even Marcus Rashford, in some way. All of those things need to stop and, hopefully, their signings can perform the way they should be performing."
United are now entering yet another period of transition with incoming head coach Ruben Amorim at their helm. Under his watch, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos will be tasked with rebuilding the squad - and the club.
Money is expected to be at a premium for the new-look hierarchy, though. Due to the threat of punishment from the Premier League amid financial caution, United are towing a fine line. That position has been exaggerated more by the near £10million that it cost to buy Amorim out of his Sporting contract.
It could leave United open to cost-effective deals, loans, and finding free agents, at least mid-season. Saha would be an advocate for using the funds on Pogba, it seems.
