Forgotten heavyweight fires three-word Daniel Dubois 'demand' after Anthony Joshua victory

Joseph Parker is gunning for a fight with Daniel Dubois after the latter's stunning KO win over Anthony Joshua.

That's according to Parker's promoter, David Higgins, after the heavyweight division was blown wide open with a devastating performance from Dubois at a sold-out Wembley Stadium on Saturday night. IBF champion Dubois, 27, needed just five rounds to blow AJ away and retain his world strap.

A victory for Joshua, 36, would most-likely have paved the way for another all-British bout against Tyson Fury, but there's now doubt over that long-awaited match-up. Fury must first take on undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk anyway in a rematch that has been inked-in for December 21 in Saudi Arabia.

As for Dubois and Joshua, there's uncertainty over what comes next. AJ's camp do hold a 'rematch clause' after his fourth career defeat, but Dubois has options.

But could Parker be one of those after the New Zealander's re-emergence? Parker, 32, was beaten by three Britons - namely Joshua, Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce - earlier in his 38-fight career.

However, the former WBO world champion has regrouped since then, winning five in a row with Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder on his victory CV. The 32-year-old has not competed since March, but promoter Higgins reckons a shot on Dubois should be on the cards for his man next.

"Whenever, anywhere, anytime," said Higgins in an interview with Sky Sports. "Joseph is ready to fight anyone, but if he was given the opportunity to fight Daniel Dubois, he'd grab it with both hands.

"He would back himself to win. I think besides Fury vs Usyk II, Parker vs Dubois I think - in the heavyweights - would the best fighting the best."

Higgins continued: "Parker is on a roll and has surprised people - and I think you could say the same about Dubois. Styles makes fights and I think the fans would love to see Joseph Parker vs Daniel Dubois, so if the powers that be are willing to make that fight, then that would be a wonderful thing.

"[Parker] has fought his way, earned his way back to the mandatory position in the WBO interim world champion. He's done that the old-fashioned way by stepping up and consecutively beating some of the toughest opponents in the world - and he has no fear of Daniel Dubois.

"He'd fight him anywhere, anytime and back himself to beat and knock out Daniel Dubois."
