Jake Paul vs KSI fight feelings made clear by Turki Alalshikh amid mega fight claims

by · Manchester Evening News

Turki Alalshikh, the head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, has reportedly expressed interest in a potential showdown between social media stars Jake Paul and KSI.

This claim comes following a recent post by TheBreadBatch, a social media account. Currently, Paul is gearing up for his forthcoming boxing match with Mike Tyson.

The bout was initially scheduled for earlier this summer, but 'Iron Mike' had to delay his return to the ring due to an inflamed ulcer. Following doctor's orders, Tyson ceased training but has since returned to the gym, assuring he will be ready to step into the ring later this year.

The highly anticipated face-off between these two big names is slated for Friday, November 15, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, potentially drawing up to 90,000 spectators. Meanwhile, YouTube star-turned-boxer KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, is currently recovering from a hand injury that ruled him out of a Misfits event in Dublin earlier this summer.

He was supposed to fight Slim Albaher and MMA veteran Anthony Taylor in a 2v1 tag-team match. Once he recovers from his injury next year, KSI is considering potential 'superfights' against boxing legends Amir Khan and Floyd Mayweather, reports the Mirror.

However, should the opportunity to fight Paul present itself first, he might put those two potential matches on hold. Rumour has it that KSI could face off with Paul in the ring, stirred by interest potentially shown by the Saudi boxing chief.

However, His Excellency has expressed his views on such a match happening in the Kingdom before. Sharing his frank opinions on Paul, Alalshikh said: "I think he doesn’t like me right now and hasn’t for the past two months. I’ll be honest, I like him as part of the younger generation, and he has a lot of fans. My kids are among them. But I think he needs to decide what he really wants.

"If he wants to be a real boxer, he needs to take on big fights against boxers, not treat it like a show. That’s my opinion, because it’s damaging to boxing. I know he doesn’t like this, especially what I said about his last fight. I said it wasn’t boxing, and I’m not joking.

"If he wants to continue in this field and be part of Riyadh Season, he needs to fight real boxers. That’s my opinion. If he does that, I’ll support him." When asked if he would ever support a fight between the two social media stars, Alalshikh said: "No, I would never support something like that, even if it’s popular with people. I do boxing, not shows."

Back in January, Alalshikh declared he doesn't want to host any more YouTube boxing events in Saudi Arabia. It comes after the nation hosted Paul's clash with Tommy Fury last year. Speaking to DAZN, he suggested that there could be a separate section for influencer boxing, but in his heart, he wants to see real boxers enter the ring. “Please, we don’t want any YouTuber fights again. I don’t talk about names. I want fighters, real fighters. This is what I support. For me, inside my heart, I want the fighters,” he said.
