by · Manchester Evening News

Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov has taken up his new job on Sunday afternoon ahead of the final round of Premier League fixtures before October's international break.

Regular Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville is on duty with NBC in the United States this weekend and, with Roy Keane also not assigned to the studio, Berbatov has joined the Super Sunday panel. The Bulgarian is holding double duties as an expert on not only United, but also Tottenham Hotspur who kick-off in today's other Premier League game.

His other former team take on Brighton. So with Berbatov back on our screens, The Manchester Evening News has taken a closer look at what he has been up to since leaving the Premier League stage;

Post-Premier League career

After impressing for Spurs, Berbatov moved to United in 2008. Four years later, the centre-forward was sold to Fulham in a stint which saw him return 20 goals in 54 appearances.

A short but sweet spell at Craven Cottage ended with a move to AS Monaco in 2014. Stints at Greek side PAOK Salonika and Indian club Kerala Blasters followed before his retirement in 2018.

Punditry work - and legends

Working on Sky Sports is not Berbatov's first experience of being a pundit. Ever since his retirement, he has found work as an expert for several different brands, including bookmakers Betfair.

Berbatov has also returned to Old Trafford as a player! Most recently, the silky former frontman lined up for United legends in September when they took on their Celtic counterparts.

What is Dimitar Berbatov's net worth?

Berbatov's exact net worth is difficult to tie down. However, according to Celebrity Net Worth, the ex-footballer has banked around £14.8million ($19.5million) for his various ventures in the sport.

X-rated City rejection

Before moving to Old Trafford, it appeared certain that United would miss out on the forward. Manchester City were in the driving seat to get the deal over the line. However, in an interview with The Telegraph, Berbatov explained he was easily convinced to join Sir Alex Ferguson's side. "They wanted to sign me on the last day of the market," he said.

"I told my agent; 'f*** off, we're going to United. Because of their history, the prestige, the players, their manager and the shirt, I never had any doubt that Old Trafford was the right decision."
