Jake Paul reveals 'crazy' Mike Tyson fight vision before Netflix boxing match

Jake Paul has recalled how Mike Tyson was completely supportive of having a boxing match with him following a brief phone conversation nearly three years ago.

After months of back-and-forth on social media and speculation about whether the fight would even happen, they are finally due to fight. In a Netflix documentary series building up to the fight, Paul has revealed what led to him ever phoning Tyson in the first place

The YouTuber-turned-boxer astonishingly confessed in the programme that he had a vision of himself battling the boxing legend in the ring before reaching out to his fellow American. "About two-and-a-half years ago now, I went to Costa Rica for my first ayahuasca ceremony," Paul recalled.

"I wanted to uncover things about myself," he clarified. "One of the most bizarre things was the vision I had of me and Mike Tyson fighting, as if it had already occurred or something in the future, or was going to happen, that's the feeling it gave me.

"And it showed me the millions of kids watching through their TVs and devices, and it showed the butterfly effect of what that creates for the sport of boxing. So, the next day, I get in touch with Mike.

"He's like, 'Yeah, Jake, I love this idea. This is awesome man, this sounds great. We need to make this happen'. And that's the power of opening yourself to the energy of the universe, but also acting on those things."

But their fight has faced criticism, which Paul recently acknowledged during an appearance on TODAY. "A lot of people are wondering 'Jake, why are you doing this? Even if you beat him, they're going to say he's old'.

"But to me, Mike Tyson wanted to fight me. That is an honour. He's one of the most famous boxers in the world to ever do it. To step in there with someone of his nature is an honour and a dream come true. It's going to be a spectacle on Netflix".
