AFCON 2025 qualifier: Eguavoen upbeat Super Eagles will beat Libya

by · Daily Post

Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has admitted that Libya will prove to be a strong opposition for his team but is optimistic his team will get the job done.

Nigeria will entertain the Mediterranean Knights in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three encounter in Uyo on Friday.

The Super Eagles sit at the summit in Group D with four points from two games.

Eguavoen reckoned the Super Eagles are favourites against the Mediterranean Knights but claimed the opponent will fight to avoid defeat.

“They have one point and are bottom of the group. We are aware of our position and they are aware of their position,” Eguavoen told the Super Eagles media.

They will come here and fight. We are not thinking about the away game, our focus is the game in front of us on Friday.

“We will fight for the three points. We know what it means to get the job done as quickly as possible.

“It is going to be tough but the boys the are in good spirit. We have no injury and everyone is ready.”
