Highlights! Morgan Charriere sends French crowd into frenzy with vicious knockout punch | UFC Paris

by · MMAmania.com

Morgan Charriere is back on the winning track after scoring a second-round finish earlier today (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) at UFC Paris live on ESPN+ from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France, stopping featherweight submission specialist Gabriel Miranda with a brutal knockout (punch).

“The Last Pirate” was a massive betting favorite despite coming off a split-decision loss to Jose Mariscal his last time out. Miranda certainly posed a threat on the ground given his 16 career submission finishes, but Charriere possessed the well-rounded skillset to take control of this early and deliver for the home crowd.

Fortunately for Charriere and the French fans in attendance, Miranda wasn’t able to score one of his patented submissions. It wasn’t from a lack of trying. Charriere’s defense on the ground and against takedowns was spot on. That provided “Last Pirate” with a chance to land his strikes, which came in the form of a massive left hand knockout in the second round.

Check out the video highlights in the above player and Charriere’s very loud post-fight interview below:

Charriere, 28, is now 2-1 under the UFC banner and clearly one of the brightest prospects hailing from France on the UFC roster today. He’s got a wealth of career experience and can finish a fight wherever it goes. Saturday’s stoppage was easily his most impressive one to date.
