Max Holloway is looking to turn his recent “BMF” win into another featherweight title reign this afternoon (Sat., Oct. 26, 2024) at UFC 308 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE, when “Blessed” challenges current UFC champion Ilia Topuria for the undisputed 145-pound belt.

While Holloway is regarded as one of the best featherweights of all time his path to yet another shot at UFC gold was unclear just earlier this year. That’s because Alexander Volkanovski was still champion and he had defeated Holloway three times before. Once Topuria burst onto the scene and knocked out Volkanovski at UFC 298 this past February to take the belt doors opened again for Holloway.

Of course, Holloway’s ability to earn another UFC title shot depended on his performance against Justin Gaethje at UFC 300. The two fan favorites battled it out for the “BMF” title and many considered it the main attraction of the night. Holloway was moving up in weight and closed as the betting underdog, but that didn’t stop “Blessed” from delivering a dominant performance on the feet.

As most know, the “BMF” fight ended with an epic last-second knockout by Holloway after “Blessed” urged Gaethje to meet him in the middle the cage in the final 10 seconds of action. It was one of the most iconic moments in UFC history and a performance from Holloway that makes his matchup with Topuria this weekend in Abu Dhabi that much more intriguing.

Check out the final moments of Holloway’s UFC 300 clash with Gaethje below:

Ahead of UFC 308, Holloway took a look back at his infamous knockout over Gaethje and what it meant in that fight to deliver an all-time legendary moment for the fans.

“I felt like I just couldn’t do no wrong in that fight,” Holloway told UFC on TNT Sports. “I felt on. I felt great for every single round. I just felt on. Everything just felt right. I loved it. I loved every second of it.

“10 seconds like I said. We point down. I know if the roles were reversed Gaethje is a standup guy. I know he would have gave me the shot, too, to try and keep the belt. We did it. I land my punch before he lands his, and the rest is history.

“Dana [White] sells ‘What the F?’ moments and I’m glad I was able to deliver.”
