Highlights! Ailin Perez twerks on opponent after scoring first Octagon submission | UFC Paris

by · MMAmania.com

Ailin Perez made up for a scary weight miss with a nasty submission finish earlier today (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) at UFC Paris live on ESPN+ from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France, stopping Darya Zheleznyakova with a first-round arm-triangle choke.

Perez, who is known for her twerking and grappling skills, came in heavy during Friday’s weigh ins and nearly fainted on the scale (watch HERE). She was ultimately fined 20 percent of her purse, but the fight still went on as planned. Despite the weight miss, Perez remained a sizeable betting favorite.

Heading into Saturday, Perez was hoping to score her first submission finish inside of the Octagon. It didn’t take “Fiona” long to close the distance and implement her grappling. Once the action hit the canvas, Perez was able to slice through Zheleznyakova’s defense and lock up a tight arm-triangle choke. Zheleznyakova tapped after a few moments of pressure. The referee stopped the fight and Perez proceeded to twerk over Zheleznyakova in celebration.

Check out the video highlights in the above player.

Perez, who turns 30 next week, is now 4-1 since making her UFC debut two years ago. The Argentinian fighter has looked better each and every time she’s stepped inside of the cage and if she can start finishing fights like this it will make her even more dangerous. After Saturday’s dominant performance, Perez should be looking at a top 10 matchup in the women’s bantamweight division her next time out.
