Saturday night’s boxing action is headlined by a rematch between Jaron Ennis and Karen Chukhadzhian for the former’s IBF welterweight world title.

The pair met last year with Ennis taking a clear points victory. ‘Boots’ stopped David Avanesyan last time out in July and had been hoping for a unification bout against WBO champion Brian Norman, but a deal could not be agreed. Step forward again, Ukrainian Chukhadzhian, who is the IBF’s mandatory challenger.

Victory for Ennis – and ideally an eye-catching one – would set him up for unification showdowns next year. The 27-year-old has vowed to put on a “beautiful show” at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

“I'm going to put on a beautiful show by beating him up, breaking him down, having my fun, and getting my knockout at the end of the night,” he said, via Boxing Scene.

“It's going to be fireworks. I saw a lot of things that I am going to apply in this fight to show that I am that guy and show the world why I am the best. He doesn't do anything that concerns me.”

Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez, considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the US, will also be on the card as he defends his WBC super-flyweight title against Pedro Guevara. Victory for Rodriguez would pave the way for a mouth-watering showdown against undisputed super-bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue next year.
