Manchester City broke an incredible Champions League record with a commanding 5-0 win over Sparta Prague.
The victory at the Etihad Stadium saw Phil Foden open the scoring in the third minute, with Erling Haaland bagging a brace, and goals from John Stones and a late Matheus Nunes penalty completing the rout.

City's triumph takes their tally to seven points from their first three group stage matches.
More notably, it extended their unbeaten run in the Champions League to 26 games, surpassing the record set by Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United, per Opta.

Man City break United's record
United's unbeaten run under the legendary Scottish manager spanned from 2007 to 2009, highlighted by their Champions League victory in 2008 in Moscow.
While clubs like Bayern Munich came close—amassing a 19-match unbeaten streak between 2019 and 2021—it is Manchester City who have now claimed the record, per Goal.
City’s last defeat in the competition came during the 2021-22 season, when they were knocked out by Real Madrid in a 3-1 semi-final loss at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, last season's penalty shootout defeat to Madrid doesn’t affect the record, as the match ended 1-1 after extra time.
What's next for Man City?
With the Champions League unbeaten record now secured, Pep Guardiola will shift his focus back to the Premier League, where City face Southampton on Saturday.
City will look to maintain their European momentum as they chase a historic fifth consecutive league title.
Guardiola not 'interested' in winning EPL
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Pep Guardiola is casual about winning the Premier League title this campaign.
Since joining the club in 2016, he has coached them to seven English top-flight titles, four of these consecutively.
